Car accidents: 2 dead in wrong-way wreck

A wrong-way wreck involving two vehicles left two people dead and another person injured. Car accidents involving head-on collisions are extremely dangerous and are oftentimes fatal. Tragically, this fact was made all too real for the lone survivor in a wrong-way car accident in Missouri.

The accident occurred early in the morning around 7 a.m. A northbound vehicle carrying two people veered out of its lane, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck. The impact of the wreck flung the car into a nearby ditch. Authorities reported serious damage to the front end of both vehicles.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, a 21-year-old male, was the only survivor of the accident. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. His passenger, a 22-year-old woman, and the driver of the truck that he collided with — a man in his mid-40s — were both found dead at the scene of the accident.

It is not known why the car drifted out of its lane and into oncoming traffic, but what is known is the tragic aftermath of two people who lost their lives. When dealing with fatal car accidents, family members are often burdened with emotional and financial baggage and are equipped with little help to unload it all. In Missouri, families who have lost loved ones in car accidents like this one may file a wrongful death suit on behalf of their deceased family member. A successfully litigated claim can help with unforeseen funeral costs and the long-reaching emotional aftermath of losing a loved one.
