Car accidents leave 1 dead and 6 injured

The process after a loved one’s death can be overwhelming and difficult to handle. Car accidents can ultimately lead to serious injuries or, even worse, death. Such is the case in a recent accident that occurred in Missouri last week.

Reports recently indicated that an arrest was made after one man lost his life due to an accident involving two vehicles. The accident was allegedly a result of intoxicated driving. A young man operating a Chrysler minivan rear-ended a Ford truck, resulting in the truck running off the road and hitting the ditch. Because the driver of the truck was unbuckled at the time of the collision, he was ejected from his truck when his vehicle flipped.

The truck driver was taken to a local army hospital where he later died from injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the minivan was arrested for multiple driving violations that included involuntary manslaughter. Among the charges of involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, the young man is also facing charges of drug and drug paraphernalia possession, careless driving and not wearing his seat belt.

Families of the victims involved in car accidents like this are more than likely left with questions and emotions that they have not yet dealt with. They may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the minivan that will be separate from the legal charges from the state of Missouri that he is already facing. This may help cover funeral and hospital expenses that are now left for the family to deal with. The following weeks may understandably be difficult for them.
