In the blink of an eye, the negligent actions of a driver on a Missouri road can cause severe and life-changing injuries to others. The victims typically sustain escalating medical bills and lost wages. Sometimes car accidents render victims unable to return to work, and that can be detrimental to the financial stability of any family. In more severe cases, negligent drivers can cause the deaths of other people’s loved ones.
A Fenton man recently suffered serious injuries in a car accident. A Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred on mid-afternoon on a recent Wednesday. Reportedly, a 25-year-old man was northbound on a local Fenton road from where he attempted to make a left turn into the westbound lanes of Highway 30.
The MSHP says an SUV driver who was eastbound on the highway allegedly disregarded a red traffic light and struck the turning car on its left side. A 25-year-old Fenton woman, who reportedly suffered no injuries, operated the SUV. The driver of the car that was struck suffered injuries that were reported to be serious, and an ambulance transported him to a medical facility.
Victims of car accidents in Missouri who suffered injuries due to the negligence of other parties may pursue recovery of damages. Anybody who suffered injuries in a collision can file a personal injury claim in a civil court. To navigate such a lawsuit successfully, the plaintiff must establish negligence on the part of the other driver. That will allow the court to determine financial liability and to adjudicate documented claims for financial and emotional losses sustained before entering a monetary judgment.
