Missouri biker ejected from motorcycle, injured in crash

When drivers follow too close behind one another vehicle on the roadway, accidents are bound to happen. Leaving appropriate space between two vehicles while traveling is common knowledge. A Missouri biker will most always have the short end of the stick when it comes to navigating the highways and byways while a driver operating a car, SUV or other larger vehicle has the upper hand.

On a recent morning, a 57-year-old motorcyclist and a 25-year-old SUV driver were both traveling northbound on the highway. According to local news reports, the driver of the SUV rear-ended the motorcyclist, causing him to be ejected from his motorcycle. Although the SUV driver was unharmed, the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Typically, a driver who rear ends another vehicle in Missouri is considered the at-fault party to the accident. The details of this accident will ultimately be determined by the ongoing investigation. Sometimes it is hard to see motorcycles on the road due to their size, and all drivers must use reasonable caution while in the vicinity of a motorcyclist. Sadly, more often than not, a majority of motorcyclists involved in automobile accidents are fatally injured.

Should the evidence suggest that the 25-year-old driver of the SUV was negligent, the injured biker may choose to file a civil claim for monetary damages. The assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney could help any victims of motorcycle accidents in Missouri to pursue claims for financial relief. Any awarded monetary damages from a successfully litigated lawsuit could be applied toward medical bills, lost wages or any additional monetary losses that an injured victim may have experienced.
