Negligent driving is a common cause of collisions in Missouri. When drivers fail to pay attention to their surroundings, car accidents resulting in property damage and injuries can easily occur. Unfortunately, some of these collisions lead to fatalities. A sheriff’s deputy was recently killed in a crash with a school bus.

The deputy was heading southbound on a local highway when the bus breached his pathway. The bus driver was attempting to make a left turn when the crash occurred. Reports indicate that the bus driver allegedly failed to yield the right of way to the deputy, which resulted in the deputy’s vehicle hitting the bus.

Fortunately, no children were on the bus at the time of the accident. However, Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the deputy was seriously injured and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Sadly, his injuries were too severe, and he passed away roughly two hours later. The driver of the bus was unharmed in the incident.
