Sometimes, just being in the wrong place at the wrong time can lead to devastating accident. Such was the case for the victim of a serious car crash that occurred at around 2:40 in the afternoon at the corner of East Grand Boulevard and Emily street in St. Louis on a recent Thursday.
The incident began when police spotted a criminal suspect and tried to stop him on East Grand Boulevard. The suspect noticed the police and sped away, colliding with another car approximately a half mile away near the North Grand water tower. The suspect and the victim of the other vehicle were both taken to the hospital and were listed in critical condition. The suspect was subsequently arrested by police.
As we have learned, car accidents can happen from so many reasons. Most commonly, accidents occur from a distracted driver such as someone texting while driving, eating or fidgeting with the radio. Other times, a negligent driver such as a driver impaired while driving under the influence or a tired driver falling asleep at the wheel could lead to the accident.
Regardless of the cause or fault, an accident can lead to serious or catastrophic injuries. The injuries could lead to long-term consequences, severe pain and suffering, and disabilities that prevents someone from working, resulting in lost wages. If you or a loved one has been involved in an accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries. It may be in your best interests to speak with a lawyer to determine the best way to proceed.
